Exercise

PreviousPage 2 of 2

I injured my shoulder at the gym so was forced to do calisthenics only. I doubt I will ever have a gym membership again, calisthenics is all one needs, Convict Conditioning is a good book in this regard.

The only equipment I have is a pull up bar.

The only time I would leave my home to do exercise would be to do sprints. I would never do long low intensity exercise like jogging. Look how healthy an olympic sprinter looks vs a long distance runner.

I think this applies more to men though. I've consistently noticed that women that do some form of dance as their primary exercise tend to have the best physiques and probably health benefits.

i was into lifting prior to being intoxicated with Vitamin A

i stopped, then started to do a ton of cardio instead of weight training so I burn fat. I didn't care about muscle building at this point I just wanted to be free from Vitamin A.

I'd run 5 miles a day (this lasted a week) hoping to detox from VA as much as a can while being on a low-no A diet. I starting thinking that was a little too much.. so i did fasted cardio 10 minutes every day for about 2 weeks
I soon came to the realization that exercise may not be to my benefit after reading around on forum pages about VA toxicity, and haven't worked out in a month. Longest ive gone without a workout since 2014 (i honestly feel great lol)

If someone can confirm that getting at least a 10 minute run every day can accelerate this detox, i'll be running until I break bones in my leg.

@thomas I can see some lifting, stretching and short cardio sessions as beneficial for everyone, no matter their condition. The key is not to overdo it.

Don't think about pushing yourself over your limit like it's so often portrayed with many type of physical activities. Keep it light and playful, do what you enjoy. If you can't get back to your normal activities after your workout, you probably went too far.

@sonia thanks for the reply

I think I'll just lay off the training until I heal, and just get lots of sun and drink lots of water in the meantime

A fast metabolism is key to detoxing, right? i would suggest a tablespoon of (Bragg's brand) apple cider vinegar diluted in a cup of water in the morning, and one at night. The health benefits are amazing it also does help speed up the metabolism. Drinking it before food is the way to go since it also helps with digestion

i find it interesting that Grant bicycles several miles each day.  Exercising is likely a major part of his detoxing success.  Are not toxins moved throughout the body by way of lymph (the major means)?   Is anyone else sensing that lack of exercise is slowing down their healing progress?

I'd like to bump this thread titled "exercise" because we are dabbling in getting into shape, LOL.

I sort of agree with this post, that people who aren't pushing themselves to move are probably "not doing it right".  And by "it" I mean detox.  😉

So, I had a weird thing happen, and I wonder if it was detox.  We went on a "hard" (for us couch potatoes) uphill climb for 45 minutes and the next day I distinctly felt it in the abdomen (among other places).  Later that second day, I had some pretty bad stomach pains and gas which put me back on the couch until bed time.  Methinks... detox?   A person might call it  a "chronic fatigue" sort of thing, in which exercise is just not very well tolerated.

I tend to think, though, that we need to gently push through, that we need to stir things up, and get the cobwebs out of the corners.

So was physically active again (probably went a bit too far).  Again, have pain in the gut next day.   I really think it has to do with the large intestine.  I took a charcoal, hoping this will help.

I also ate a fiber-heavy breakfast.

Between the charcoal and the fiber, something worked like a charm.

Besides the gut pain (which is gone now) my brain seems a bit off too.
