Weight loss?

Page 1 of 3Next

Has anyone experienced any weight loss by going low/no VA?

I’ll be very glad to clear up my skin, balance my hormones, balance my moods, improve my cold intolerance, and improve my sleep. That would be a HUGE success!

But I can’t lie - I also would not mind also shedding stress-related weight I gained which coincided with my orthopexic CLO pushing phase a few years ago.

Time will tell!

I was slim to start with but had started putting on a bit of weight whenever i had milk products in my diet, no matter the calorie intake.

Now after 2 months the puffyness is gone and no matter what I eat or how much I do not gain weight. I think I have lost some weight wise as clothes fit better and I can see ab lines again. Arms are also slimmer. Don't own a scale though so cannot give you a number, but I have most def leaned out a bit. Also my stomach always remains flat after eating.

I have been doing the diet for a little more than 3 months and have had little improvement to report.  I am kind of discouraged but am in this for the long haul.  I am not that large but have a high percentage of fat, always have even when I excercised daily.  I don't think I have lost any fat yet though I need to get moving, its just that I have insomnia and am so darned fatigue that it is very hard to get motivated.   My calorie intake is probably the same as before the diet, maybe I should try harder to eat more - that could help my metabolism and jump start this healing process.

I’ve been doing low A for 6 months and weight and measurements are basically the same although I eat more calories now -approximately 500 more per day. I feel better though mentally and physically beyond some detox here and there and could probably lose weight if I cut those additional calories but right now I’m more concerned with healing. My inflammation seems nearly zero at this point so I have a feeling I might start losing naturally in the spring or summer  months if that’s what is best for my body. Bella

Checking in to see if any have experienced weight loss. While I have had some success with some negative symptoms I have not had weight loss. Maybe I’m just eating to much. My exercise is not regular either. I guess I had the idea that weight would just fall off.... any tips or advice form those who have lost weight on this diet would be much appreciated.

I was underweight after a low sugar stint this summer. I got my weight back to were it used to be with some refeeding.

Soon after, I started the low A diet. I have actually gained a few pounds (I do eat liberally and don't exercise much apart from the few minutes of walking for my commute), but I have less cellulite on my thighs and I like my body composition more.

Like with RDAs, I don't actually believe in an ideal BMI. I go by how I feel and how I look in the mirror.

Before low A, even with a few pounds less, there were days I felt 'fat' and heavy without the drive to do much.

Yes I was also on a low sugar diet before learning of vitamin a but still hadn’t lost the weight around my stomach and thighs. At first when I started the detox I did feel I was loosing weight and now I’m up probably 2-5lbs. I may be just eating a lot! Not sure, also when I start to exercise my appetite goes through the roof but I do need to get more active! I am wondering if weight loss will be one of the last things I see as far as improvement. I have noticed my blood sugar is much much more stable. I was thinking of lowering sugar but I don’t want to make the diet more restrictive then I won’t keep on it. I probably just need to wait, time will tell.

I haven't lost weight but I've stopped putting it on unfairly. By this I mean that when I was eating high vit A & supplementing my weight was going up & up despite eating low calories/exercising. Now if I put on weight I actually deserve it!

Yes I would have to agree there as well. My weight was slowly creeping up whilst trying to be the healthiest ever. Now I’m not where I want to be but like you said I’m not gaining unfairly!

Also if I recall Grants diet. He only had 1 tsp extra fat. I know I have lots more as I like to sauté my low a veggies or make tahini dressing to go with rice. Also love sunflower butter on bananas. So maybe that’s why. I can’t go as strict as he was though. It wouldn’t be good for me. It would be interesting if he would do the same with fat and protein as he did with sugar to see if those cause weight gain.
